Cartier's "Haute Joillerie Collection" in the Cartier Dôme at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens

Sawf News - Cartier hosted a private cocktail reception in the Cartier Dôme, in honor of both acclaimed American director David Lynch's "Diamonds, Gold and Dreams" installation and Cartier's "Haute Joiallerie Collections" on Wednesday, December 3 at Cartier Dôme, Miami Beach Botanical Garden.

The visual environment conceived by David Lynch was comprised of a 7-minute "floating diamond" projection that was displayed each hour accompanied by a musical score. His inspiring installation places visitors in a unique atmosphere created by light, sound and texture, complementing the jewels displayed.

Lynch's creative vision blends perfectly with Cartier's collections, highlighted by his golden-fabric walls, gold-printed carpeting, gold trimmed display cases, an ornate curved display case for the incredible Patiala necklace, and gold-accented furniture with reflective glass tops.

The famous Patiala necklace was made in 1928 for Maharaja of Patiala in India in 1928. The original necklace was just under 1,000 carats featuing 2,930 diamonds which included the golf ball sized DeBeers gem 0f 234.69 carats.

The replica combines pieces of the original reclaimed at auction a decade ago by Cartier with good old cubic zirconium.

Hypnose, is a collection of black and white rings, pendants, bracelets and drop earrings made of 18-karat white gold with diamonds reminiscent of the Art Deco movement and inspired by a necklace Cartier created in 1907 with diamonds imitating watered silk.

The second line is a fine jewelry collection of 17 one-of-a-kind tasseled pieces featuring blue sapphires and spinels with red hues.

The Lynch installation and the jewel exhibit featured from December 4 through December 7.
