A new dawn is about to appear
With pop, confetti and teddy bear
Celebrations, revelry and cheer
All friends, family, near and dear

To the excitement, lend your ear
Fun, frolic, no ‘night curfew' fear
Let's get into Auld Lang Syne gear
Jingle bells is all I can hear

Smiles, laughter, nothing else so dear
Joking around, what's there to jeer?
All caps, woolies and knitwear
One feels like Queen and King Lear

Next year arrives in seconds mere
Heartbeats increase as 2400 is near
Songs of Feliz Ano Nuevo we overhear
Boys and girls dance among peer

No one minds actions queer
Marching bands go forward from rear
Delights and wishes - sheer and sincere
For the year gone by - a single tear

The images bright, nothing unclear
To let it in, all hurry to volunteer
The new is in, the old outwear
Cool and calm, no pressure to exert

I wish you all a Happy New Year
All friends from Antarctica to Zaire
