| Mojito - Cuban drink
Type: JUICE
Contributor: Anita Thakur
Region From: Cuba
Ingredients: Powdered sugar - 1 tspn
Lime juice - 2 ounces
Mint leaves - 4
Sprig of mint for garnish
Havana Club white Rum - 2 ounces
Club soda - 2 ounces
Cooking Instructions: Place the mint leaves into a long mojito glass (often called a "collins" glass) and squeeze the juice from a cut lime over it. You'll want about two ounces of lime juice, so it may not require all of the juice from a single lime. Add the powdered sugar, then gently smash the mint into the lime juice and sugar with a muddler (a long wooden device, though you can also use the back of a fork or spoon if muddler isn't available). Add ice (preferably crushed) then add the rum and stir, and top off with the club soda (you can also stir the club soda in as per your taste). Garnish with a mint sprig.
Note: Firstly I am adding it to Juice category because I realized there is no section for cocktails!

I had this drink in mint and mango flavors at Ruby Tuesday and loved it. Asked for the recipe from a Cuban lady at Macy's which turned out to be close to what 'tasteofcuba' website has shared. The drink is served with a stick of sugarcane to stir it and chew on it after finishing the drink if you relish sugarcane with a tinge of alcohol! :-)
